La escuela Alejandro Bernales de Conchalí presentó con orgullo a sus nuevos monitores dentales, un total 15 niños y niñas, que tras varias sesiones de capacitación con odontólogos de la comuna lograron graduarse con honores para proteger a sus compañeros y evitar futuros problemas odontológicos.

La iniciativa nace tras una alianza estrategia de la Corporación de Educación, Salud y Atención de Menores, presidida por el alcalde René de la Vega, junto al Colegio de Cirujano Dentistas, bajo el programa “Unidos por la sonrisa de nuestros niños”, que tiene como objetivo mejorar los hábitos higiénicos de la salud bucal entre niños y niñas, con el fin de promover la prevención como primera herramienta para llevar una vida sana.

Los alumnos-monitores pertenecen a los niveles de 2° a 5° básico, tienen la misión de enseñar a sus compañeros los cuidados de la salud bucal, como por ejemplo el cepillado correcto de dientes, como también a tomar conciencia de la importancia de tener tanto dientes como encías fuertes y saludables.

Para el director de Salud de CORESAM, Rodrigo Fernández estas actividades, tal como nos dicta el alcalde René de la Vega, “son altamente beneficiosas para que los niños y niñas se empoderen sobre los cuidados dentales, de esta forma los monitores dentales se preocuparan de que sus compañeros se laven los dientes después de cada comida. De esta forma juntos podremos avanzar hacia una población infantil libre de caries”, concluyó.
